I didn’t want to be too prepared. You can’t be prepared when people open themselves. I went with my phone and rang the bells in a few neighborhoods in Reykjavík. My goal was to take a quick pulse on loneliness in the city.

Eva Rún Snorradóttir
Playwright

Eva Rún Snorradóttir is a theater artist and writer. Since 2009 she has worked with the extended life performance group Kviss búmm bang. Their work is about researching reality: what is normal and what is not, with the hope to get people to question their everyday realities. Their performances usually have no audience and no actors. Instead, people are invited to step into a fixed structure, based on a real-life model and to stay there for an extended period of time. Eva Rún has published three poetry books. She teaches and mentors at The Icelandic Art Academy and is now writing a piece for the Reykjavík City Theatre

Our Future Stories

December, 2020–February, 2021

“How will the pandemic shape our theatrical stories?”

In Our Future Stories, seven playwrights from the Nordic countries reflect on how the pandemic will impact the future stories we will tell on stage. The project is part of #UN75, the world’s largest conversation on our collective future and a celebration of the 75th anniversary of the United Nations. Each playwright joins this global conversation by writing about the future they envision.
